Two more good ones
I have finished Crimes Against Logic, but I dog-eared two good quotes that I wish to share with all of you, because I love you. And when I say I love you, I mean it only in the loosest sense. I mean it in the bud-light sense. Anyways, on to the quotes.
You can't change the world just by describing it differently, or replacing nasty old words with nice new ones. If your shithouse stinks, you won't make it smell any better by calling it a public convenience. You need to clean it. And a cripple won't stand and walk because you call him alternatively-abled.
Of course, words can acquire unpleasant connotations over time and only those who wish to endorse these connotations will continue to use the word. "Nigger" is a perfect example. But a prohibition on calling anyone a nigger, or even mentioning the "N" word, will not in itself eliminate racism or improve the lot of African Americans. On the contrary, if racism persists, other names for blacks will pick up the unwanted connotations.

Many enjoy feeling guilty about misdeeds they didn't do, such as colonizing Africa or denying women the vote. I have even seen undergraduates, who I was fairly certain were virgins, marching with placards declaring, "I am a rapist." Who would deny people with such innocent pleasures? But, like all pleasures, faux guilt must be enjoyed responsibly. You mustn't allow yourself to get so carried away with that you contract the fever and start believing that your victims are infallible.
What he is talking about in the last sentence is "morality fever". It is the tendency of sociologists, anthropologists, and literary critics, and "the like" to deem that those who have suffered from western imperialism (or any oppression) are immune from criticism.

The "N" word is one of my pet peeves; there's just no need to have that word spoken. I agree that not saying it will eradicate racism but let's have some civility here.
I don't feel guilty one bit about slavery. I don't think it was good or right but I don't feel responsible for its prior existance just because I'm white. That's crap the flaming Liberals came up with. And you aren't owed anything just because your g-g-g-grandfather was owned by my g-g-g-grandfather. Go to college, get a degree, make a decent living and get over it.
Don't forget about it sure, but don't dwell on it, either.
Carlos Mencia talks about how he feels sorry for white people in his comedy act. He said he feels sorry for us because we can't say all the things he can.
I go to Oakland university where many black Detroiters go and I was in speech class one day. This one black male from detroit(senior english major) stood up and gave a tribute speech. He started by saying you have been the love of my life and meant a lot to me, and everything seemed like it was for his wife or girlfriend. He then named the university and continued from there. It was quite inspiring to see someone who obviously grew up in the poor shithole inner city embrace education. I am sure he would be soon moving on to the white collar world and the american dream.
And that is a racist statement by the way. You don't need to attribue a negative to a race of people. You have no logical evidence for the claim that whites in this country are "slave-owners" in their hearts. What an empty statement and what an idiot you are.
I would say all of the problems of race in this country would be solved if black people all went to college, and that goes for white people too.
Is that a joke? Did you just tell me I am not a good person because I ended with an insult? You are a hypocrite- you did the same exact thing. And that person didn't just make a point, he made a racist statement. He said that most white people are slave-owners in their hearts. It would be the same as me saying "most black people are lazy". It is a completely unsupported ignorant and racist statement, so that's why I defamed him. You can kiss my ass you righteous asshole for admonishing me and then doing the exact same thing!

If you have, then you'd understand that there is an entire underclass of whites, just like there's an underclass of blacks and hispanics.
Education is the dividing line.
Race should have nothing to do with it; if you're ignorant trash then you're ignorant trash. I've heard people make fun of college students saying they think they're better than everyone else because they're smart, etc.
If you're going to use racial sterotypes Clupbert get them right; black are all "crimals" in their hearts, it's the hispanics that are "lazy" in theirs.
And whites aren't the only ones who are racist...
Well that's the point. If you think that white people are racist, what you really think is that humans are racist when they are the majority. I mean white people have no "racist" gene or "oppressive" gene. If you think that they are just naturally oppressive, then you must think that if black people were in the same situation demographically and historically, then they would be equally oppressive.

I know this is a bit off-topic, but I just wanted to express my hatred for commies. Hippies I can tolerate though. They smoke dope and are essentially harmless. :P
Well hippies don't do anything except dirty up everything and spread venerial diseases to each other. Not to mention they don't work or produce for society at all. I hate them too.

I dunno. If they embraced much of the trash that they teach at universities, they'd emerge with a victim complex, insisting that THEY didn't have to work because they were somehow entitled to their great great great great great great great step-uncle's inheritance (twice removed).
I think that the key is not only an integration into common society, which also includes NOT distinguishing between people based on race or gender or religion or whatnot, but also an acceptance of personal responsibility. I have a extrememely hard time believing that all poverty is someone else's fault.
