Why communism sucks balls
Ok two examples I want to talk about. Number one is my trip to the Secretary of State of Michigan (known as the DMV in other places). No motivation to get anything done so they dick around and there is about a million people waiting to just do simple things like get a sticker for their boat or renew their registration. This overregulation and sneaky tax system they have just pisses everyone off.
Well anyways, the more important thing is why this shows that communism sucks balls. Well, no one gets anything done at the DMV because there is no reward. Why do they give a shit if they service people?
Let's say they really blow at service. What can you do about it? Well technically, you own them and are their boss as Joe Taxpayer. the thing is they are about 4 levels of influence from you. DMV worker > DMV manager> DMV Regional Director or some shit like that> Secretary of State of Michigan. So if you don't like your service, your only option is to vote out the secretary of state. I mean how directly influential are you?
If you don't like someone's business you get instant gratifcation by buying someone else's product or complaining to a manager where they will give you something free or money off because they want to keep your business. The manager at the DMV does not give one shit about your business and they'd probably rather not have it.
Instance 2: raising your kids. I had a discussion with my uncle today and he told me this one story of a Halloween when he was a kid. He had an older sister and 3 or 4 younger ones. Anyway, he was a cardboard box robot on this rainy halloween and everyone decided they'd rather go home. Instead of going home, he and his older sister toughed it out and he went around and collected a ton of candy in his soaked carboard box. When he got home, his Aunt convinced his mom to be fair that they would dump all the candy in the middle and divide it up equally. You bet your ass he never went out and worked hard for candy again because the lesson learned was that in order to be fair, your hard work will be distributed to those who quit.
This is the lesson of all communist and socialist programs like social security. In this country democrats are socialists(a dumbed down version of communism and prequel to it) which means they don't want to dump all the candy in the middle, they just want to take a good portion of yours and pay for the bottom 5% of people to basically do nothing. What this does though is make the 5% of people above them question why they work so hard to be basically at the same place as the people who don't work are at. So they say fuck it and stop working so hard and just take advantage of the system and so on.
The democrats are so stupid about drawing lines. Like when we draw a line and say, no this is the point where you have to support yourself, they complain about this 5% of people and how easy it would be to support them. Yes it would be easy to support 5%, but the ripple effect screws over everyone else and the increased taxation acts like a huge lull in the economy. We then end up with a whole working population without much more incentive to work. People who make money see it taxed to death and people who receive it wonder what the point of working hard is because they'll be supported anyway. We create an overall sluggish and shitty economy because of the lackadaisical attitude.
Think of economics like a huge flowing river and think of taxes like a dam. Ok, yes, you can restrict water flow and get your use out of it, but the water behind the dam becomes ever slower. So the bottomline in the dividing point of ideology is, can we just let 5% of the population live in abject poverty?
Well yes we can, because the costs of paying for people who don't want to work is enormous. It just slows down all technological and economical progress our society makes.
Why punish everyone else because 5% of the population just is not motivated to get off their ass? Charities can help those people out and capitalism can continue to thrive and give us all the good things it has given us since the Renaissance.
I will probably write posts on my thoughts on poor people are poor because they planned poorly or are lazy which is why they planned poorly and then another post on why capitalism is responsible for modern existence, ie. long lifespans and more stable lives.

Paragraph breaks good.
Chocolate chip muffins are too. I was stuck using dial-up and AOL doesn't allow you to break on Blogger for some retarded reason.
