Sometimes, Republicans piss me off
Do we really need a flag burning prohibition? It sounds like we're making a religious symbol out of it or something. I don't see how this law is in anyway anything but political grandstanding. How about let's outlaw singing the national anthem the wrong way, have big parades with all of our weapons in the streets, create "red, white, and blue" brigades for children, and of course outlaw anti-american speech. We're the land of free speech for christ sake, let's act like it. If you're a piece of shit idiot, then burn the flag and let everyone know. Hopefully at least 13 states will strike this piece of shit amendment proposal down.
Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., said, "If the flag needs protection at all, it needs protection from members of Congress who value the symbol more than the freedoms that the flag represents."

To punish someone for burning the flag will be no different that punishing someone who rips up the Koran. Even though I love and support what the flag represents it's still just cloth. Let's put our energies into getting rid of the illegal immigrants and getting the "lifers" off of welfare.
